Matt began racing in North Dakota. An interest in cycling performance and to further his collegiate cycling career, Matt entered the University of Texas graduate program in exercise physiology. Still not ready for a real job he signed up for medical school followed by residency in orthopaedic surgery. Currently he is happily married and living in Kirland, WA. He supports his racing habit by working as an orthopaedic surgeon at the KneeFootAnkle Center.
