Tour de Bloom Stage Race


The Tour de Bloom Stage Race is a three-day cycling event being held May 3-5, 2019, in the Wenatchee Valley. Organized by the Wenatchee Valley Velo Club, Tour de Bloom features a road race in Plain on Friday, a Merckx-style Time Trial on Saturday morning, a twilight criterium in historic downtown Wenatchee on Saturday afternoon and evening, and a road race among the rolling wheat fields near Waterville in adjacent Douglas County on Sunday. The event is USA Cycling-certified. Tour de Bloom is held during Wenatchee’s famous Apple Blossom Festival.

Road Closures

The Washington State Apple Blossom Festival and Wenatchee Valley Velo have announced road closures to celebrate the 2018 Grand Parade and Tour de Bloom Criterium bike race on May 5.

Beginning at 9:00am on Saturday, May 5 the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival will close the following streets:

  • Millerdale Avenue from Fuller Street to Miller Street

  • Miller Street from Millerdale to Cherry Street

  • Cherry Street to Triangle Park

  • Triangle Park to Orondo Street to Wenatchee Avenue

  • Wenatchee Avenue to Seventh Street

  • Palouse Street from Mission to Wenatchee Avenue

  • Mission from Palouse Street to Second Avenue

  • First and Second Streets from Mission to Wenatchee Avenue

The Stemilt Growers Grand Parade begins at 11:00am. The following streets are expected to re-open at 1:00:

  • Millerdale Avenue from Fuller Street to Miller Street

  • Miller Street from Millerdale to Cherry Street

  • Cherry Street to Triangle Park

  • Triangle Park to Orondo Street to Wenatchee Avenue

The Tour de Bloom Criterium bike race will begin at 2:30pm. The Criterium, sponsored by Biosports Physical Therapy, takes place over a six-block loop following the Apple Blossom Festival Grand Parade with the following street closures:

  • Mission from Yakima Street to Second Avenue

  • Wenatchee Avenue from Yakima Street to Second Avenue

  • Orondo Avenue, Palouse Street, and First Avenue from Mission to Wenatchee Avenue

All closed roads will re-open at 11:00pm on May 5. Spectators are welcome at both events
