Time for the Beast... The Maratona Gran Fondo

Posted by Mike Hone on

The day was upon us that we all have been waiting for. To summit 7 passes and do nearly 15,000ft of climbing. We had pre ridden the course on a few of the climbs so we knew a little of what to expect. With 9,000 riders it was a slow start for those back at end of the start. A few guys were lucky to stage up front as they paid a little more to get a better place :)

The day was amazing and also very challenging but all the guys finished with respectable times and no one crashed and got injured. We did see a few bodies lying in the ditch with their bikes. Just glad it wasn't us.
